Just for Fun Feature!

Another feature of the new website, Hudson Valley Cats, is a "Just for Fun" page.  In today's post I want to highlight a fun app you can use on your phone to create art from your cat pics!  It's called Prisma and I've posted two fun examples below.  The easy to use app made my iphone pics look like illustrations.  Enjoy!  Here are links to the app:

Animal Kind Adoptions

Adoption Success Stories

One of the features of Hudson Valley Cats website are cat and kitten adoption success stories.  I'd like to post two stories this week in our blog.  The two cats pictured below were adopted many years ago from Animal Kind in Hudson, NY.  Feather was found in an empty house, pregnant with an ear mite infestation and no food or water.  Gem was left behind in an apartment when the owner moved out.  Both these adult cats were taken in and cared for by AnimalKind in Hudson, NY.  They were later adopted by a local family and are living happily with their new families.  They enjoy the company of children, dogs, and two new kittens that were adopted last year.  I love happy endings.  If you want to give another adult cat or kitten a similar happy ending, please visit AnimalKind's adoption pages here:  http://www.animalkindny.com/animals/

Cats & Cupcakes!

A Visit to Morgan's Cat Cafe

 What could be more fun than cupcakes, kittens and cookies during an afternoon out in the Hudson Valley?  Morgan's Cat Cafe is one my favorite places to visit.  At this unique cafe they have several kittens and cats up for adoption.  You can view them and play with them during business hours and with a small donation ($1.00) to help with their care.  The cupcakes and other treats are all vegan and delicious!  Here is a link to the cafe with their business hours and location:  http://www.morganscatcafe.org/

Our Own Hudson Valley Celeb Cat

One of the Hudson Valley Cats that will soon have a "success story" published on our website went from being left behind at a farmers market in a cardboard box to being tweeted on People Magazine's Pets twitter feed!  Mischa is a locally adopted Hudson Valley Cat (the grey kitten in the cover photo) that was just featured in this celeb magazine's social media.  Click here to see this cutie on People Magazine's Twitter! New Website

Exciting news!  There is a new website created just for the benefit of Hudson Valley Cats. The new website will be an easy place to click links to many organizations in our area trying to find homes for strays and to help the feral cats in our area.  I am planning to showcase cats looking for homes and to promote adopting over buying from a breeder or pet shop.  Please visit the new website and be sure to check back soon as I update it.  Thanks!
